MICK WILLIAMS CELEBRATES 40+1 YEARS IN BROADCASTING

DALLASTX – Mick Williams Host/Executive Producer of Mick Williams’ Cyber-Line is celebrating his 40+1 years in broadcasting today.

“We were supposed to celebrate the 40th anniversary but that nasty COVID got in the way”, says Williams.

Mick Williams started as an intern at KWJS-FM/Dallas, one of nine stations owed by Jimmy Swaggart at the time.

“I applied for my broadcast endorsement while an intern. We all got let go on July 29, 1981 – The same day Charles and Diana got married. My card showed up a few days later stamped August 1, 1981 and became official.”

Williams later moved to KTLR-FM/Terrell, Tx and became a DJ spinning country music and PSA Director. Automation came along and he had to reinvent himself.

Mick noticed that talk shows had different formats but nothing about technology. ”This guy named Rush Limbaugh showed up and took talk radio by storm. I then figured out that with my knowledge I could create a technology show.”

He created Mick Williams’ Cyber-Line in December 1995 and was heard on Dallas stations KSKY, WBAP, and KYNG along with WWCR. He joined USA Radio Network in June 2000 where he still broadcasts with his co-host Bob (Video Bob) Byron and Social Media Zarina Amy Lynn.

He also wrote a column for the Ft Worth Star-Telegram’s Startext service, “Spanglish” newspaper El Leader and AOL Digital. The Cyber-Line podcasts reach listeners around the world.

Williams changed Cyber-Line’s format this year to the first Poli-Tech Talk Show. Along with products and tech news, Mick talks about how political forces affect consumers use of technology and censorship. Mick Williams’s Cyber-Line celebrated 25 years on air in 2020.

One thing to always remember is radio & podcasts are theater of the mind. Mick Williams is known to embellish the truth from time to time. Mick Williams is solely responsible for this own choices, words, and actions on the Mick Williams' Cyber-Line show. Not everything is truthful or factual on the Mick Williams' Cyber-Line show, or it's social media channels. It's considered "theater of the mind." Because of this, YouTube has removed some videos from the Mick Williams' Cyber-Line YouTube channel. We apologize in advance.

I had a press release for special new product....

10am at the Doubletree Hotel. This new device would revolutionize radio. A pay service that allowed you to listen to hundreds of channels from a tiny little box in your car. Stereo and static free from coast to coast. I had my press pass to come check it out and be apart of broadcasting history.

It was this new company: XM Radio.
Ballroom. 10am 11 September 2001.
Sadly, I was destined for another part of broadcasting history.
Two commercial airplanes hit the World Trade Center Towers that morning.
The press conference was canceled and the XM radio service would have its debut three weeks later.

This story can neither be confirmed nor denied.
